The United Nations General Assembly in June 2004 passed a resolution. It admits physics provides an important basis to learn nature and notices physics and its application is the cornerstone of technological advance. What’s more, it is convinced that physical education provides tools for necessary scientific infrastructure construction in human development. Physics is an important subject; high school physics is its foundation; physics in grade 10 is the basis of high school physics. In my teaching career, I find that there exist many problems for Grade 10 students, such as decline in performance and difficulties in the beginning, which lead to the lack of students’ learning interest.The thesis first expounds the research results of present physics learning of Grade 10 students from various literature. Piaget’s cognitive development theory, motivation theory, and the theory of the zone of proximal development are the theoretical basis of this article. There is a questionnaire survey to the students in Classs4, grade 10, Changli No. 1 high school, which is aimed at studying the present learning state in physics. Through the data analysis, we can find out the following problems. First, their physics exam result is not satisfied. Second, compared to physics in junior high school, that in senior high school is more difficult, so the students can’t adapt it. Third, the learning motivation of students with learning difficulties in physics is weaker than those who have good grades. Fourth, the students are not independent in classroom learning, so they need teachers’ guidance. Fifth, they can’t use mathematics well in physics. Sixth, they are not good at scientific reasoning on the premise of abstract concept or theory. Seventh, they need to develop good habits and qualities of physics learning.Then the thesis analyses the causes of these problems. In physics between junior high school and senior high school, there exist significant differences in the ability requirements for students and teaching methods. Besides, high student cognitive development is in the concrete operational stage or in the transition period to formal operational stage.Finally, according to the causes mentioned above, the thesis proposes the strategies to solve these problems. From junior high school to senior high school, there should be effective link-up in the knowledge content and capacity requirements. In teaching methods, teachers need to take the initiative to adapt to the characteristics of students to meet their requirements. In addition, teachers can take advantage of the experiment, the history of physics, good relationship between teachers and students to strengthen the learning motivation.
