As the given proposition of the writing assignment in the college entrance examination changes rapidly, it is considered to be a beneficial attempt to improve the writing skills of high school students though the training of fragment writing. The thesis mainly focuses on a study carried out by the author on the teaching system of the fragment writing in regular high school. It is based on different research methods like documentation method, practice and research method and case analysis, as well as previous experience. To start with, the author looks back on the propositional patterns of writing assignment in college entrance examinations in previous years and makes an analysis of the appearance of the fragment writing in those papers, which illustrates the necessity of improving students’ writing skills. Then the elaboration on the present status and the causes of some problems in high school students’ writing is given and the conclusion is that fragment writing can help solve those problems. Based on all above, in the final part of the thesis the author focuses on how to make an effective teaching plan and build a practical teaching system of fragment writing training, as well as a promising improvement, in an attempt to improve the writing abilities of high school students effectively.
