The new curriculum reform is paying more and more attention to the development and utilization of curriculum resources. As history has various curriculum resources, it is of great practical significance in better promoting the curriculum reform of history in Senior high school when local history resources are utilized effectively.Firstly, the dissertation analyzes the definition, classification and features of local history resources,and introduces the content of local history resources in Jiangyinbriefly. Then according to History curriculum standard(experimental), it makes statistical analysis of the history examination questions related to local history resources of Jiangsu and carries out a surveyof local history resource’infiltrating into Senior high schoolclass, thereby realizing the significance of local history resources in senior high school History teaching. After knowing the above basic knowledge, the writer emphasizes on discussing the two main abilities of history study: history-realizing ability and history-exploring ability referring to local history resources in Jiangyin. One is how to utilize local history resources to develop students’ history-realizing ability. The writer develops students’ history perception, history reflection and history empathy through two ways: inserting local history in regular History class teaching and implementing rich after-class activities. The other one is how to utilize local history resources to develop students’ historyexploring ability. The writer pointedly chooses the local history resource, meticulously designs teaching situation that can arouse students’ great interests, and adopts pictures,videos, material objects, etc. to put students into the history situation. In this process,students’ history-exploring ability will be developed. Meanwhile, the writer uses a large number of teaching cases to clarify that problem exploring method and activity exploring method are the effective ways to develop the history-exploring ability.
