The history textbook is the basic of the history curriculum teaching material, is the student learning knowledge in school education, the basic source of information for, is also the important basis of teacher’s teaching plan. The textbook compiling based on curriculum standards promulgated by the national ministry of education, is the national curriculum standard the supporting body of thought. The historical textbook is an important component of the textbooks, including text, images, the historical data of historical documents, the chart data, maps and historical historical data, the content has a very important role in the history teaching. Learning these content will help to improve students’ reading ability and the ability to independently explore the historical data, help to cultivate students historical thinking. Therefore, how to make good use of historical data to improve students’ inquiry ability in high school history textbooks, history thinking ability has become an important task of education workers.Based on historical data as the research object, in high school history textbooks for high school history textbooks, the use of historical method as the breakthrough point, through exploring and understanding of the use of high school history textbook historical concluded the following: first, must learn the value of textbook in the historical data, to fully use of historical materials in the textbook, and follow certain principles, in the process of using, such as the optimality principle, principle of step by step, the students main body principle, etc. Secondly, in the concrete teaching activity, be sure to make good use of the different characteristics of the various types of historical data, and a targeted training to students, so as to realize various aspects ability to continuously improve. Finally, the author of the use of textbooks, the historical data and puts forward some Suggestions, aiming at doing something for the constant improvement of current history education.
