Faced with critical situation of resource and environment, it is important to foster the environmental awareness of junior high school students, especially as the future constructors to achieve sustainable development of the Chinese people. Based on the fully tap middle school geography curriculum standards and the junior middle school geography teaching material, on the basis of field investigation, and analyzing the status quo and existing problems. Survey shows that the current junior middle school students of the weak consciousness of environmental protection and to strengthen environmental protection knowledge, at the same time schools play the role of cultivating people environmental protection consciousness is not enough, the status of the geography class is low, the geography teacher failed to play a good student environmental protection consciousness of the trainers.By further analyzing the principal position of students and summarize the characteristics of the teaching method, put forward the environmental protection consciousness cultivation in geography teaching strategies, including raising the environmental education of geography teachers accomplishment and consciousness of environmental protection, strengthen environmental education in geography teaching to cultivate students’ consciousness of environmental protection, innovation, geography teachers teaching evaluation system, cultivating strong school environmental protection four aspects of culture. According to the junior middle school geography teaching material contents, this paper summarizes the environmental protection consciousness fostering theme, integration, practice three case teaching design.
