After the founding of new China, China’s women’s social status has been greatly improved. In terms of female employment, whether employment scale and scope have been greatly extended. However, we still can see, compared with men, women in the labor market in our country is still at a disadvantage, common occupational inequality. From a macro perspective, this article attempts to from the profession overall, explore the Chinese women’s occupational status than men whether there are differences, and how the differences, and compare with the developed countries and other developing countries, the Chinese women’s occupational status at what level and location.In this study, from the gender employment, employment pattern, the industry structure, professional distribution and highly aspects compares our country and developed countries and other developing countries. Results show that the current occupational gender segregation phenomenon is still widespread in the world, and is more prominent in the developing world. Compared to men, women still disadvantage of overall employment situation, the performance for women’s overall employment rate less than men, and men and women have their own focus areas, there is an obvious occupational segregation phenomenon; In the professional height is different between men and women, and the phenomenon of unequal pay is still common. Women in the workplace should not only face the "glass ceiling" phenomenon, more difficult to get job and promotion opportunities than men, and even in the same post, also is still suffering from unequal pay treatment. At the same time, women are taking more than the male’s unpaid work.It’s roughly how the situation in our country, at the same time, our country city and countryside dual structure, aggravate the inequality of women face when a job. The arrival of the era of market economy also makes women’s occupational status in our country present a trend of polarization. On the one hand, the rapid development of market economy makes the scope and scale of female employment has got great development. Cancel the job allocation system, on the other hand, economic organization autonomy of choose and employ persons, the requirement to the quality of employees is becoming higher and higher. Makes the low qualification, no technology and women living in the countryside, on the professional rising channel is becoming narrower. At the same time, the family planning policy of our country on the employment of women has had an impact.Through the international comparison of occupational gender segregation phenomenon, make us women’s employment in China have a general understanding, so as to how to further improve the women’s employment status to provide some thinking.
