High school ideological and political education is an important part of the whole process of ideological and political education. It is the main way to promote student’s comprehensive development and train successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics. High school teachers play a leading role in teaching practice, whose qualities are directly relate to the cultivation of student’s interest in learning and the right outlook of the world, life and values. What’s more, the teacher’s qualities concern the reform and development of the high school ideological and political education, which relates to the future of our country. With the in-depth development of education reform, building a high-quality teachers team is necessary, which pay more attention on the continuous improvement of teacher’s quality and perfection. Teaching practice shows that teacher’s quality itself is the most intuitive and effective means of education. It conducts a lasting profound impact on students. So, the study about optimization of qualities of political teachers in high schoolhas significant theoretical and practical value.On the basis of previous research, the writer redefines the connotation of high school political teachers ’ quality. At the same time, the writer has a good understand of the current quality situation of high school political teachers by doing questionnaire, including the aspects of teacher’s education concept, professional ethics, knowledge structure, teaching ability and interpersonal relationship. And on the basis of this survey, the writer analysis factors that affecting the current qualities of high school political teachers from the view of society, school and teacher themselves. The most important thing is that the article from student’s perspective through the questionnaire analysis the students expect about the qualities of political teachers in high school. Statistical analysis shows that students look forward to the high school political teachers having good professional ethics qualities, knowledge structure, personal qualities and comprehensive abilities,which expresses in twelve different specific requirements. The enhancement of high school political teacher’s qualities not only promotes from the subjective aspect but also paysmore attention to student’s inner needs and development needs. The survey is effective and concrete in improving thepolitical teacher’s qualities in high school. Finally, considering these two surveys, the writer finds good ways to optimize the qualities of high school political teachers from three differentaspects including, creating favorable macro-social environment, improving school management system, enhancing self-development ability of teachers. Article seeks to study the optimization of high school political teacher’s qualities systematically, in order to improve the quality of high school political teacher’s qualities.
