A Research On The Current Situation,Influential Factors And Intervention Of Learning Burnout Among Students Of An Experimental Junior Middle School In Chengdu

Learning burnout in Junior Middle School draws more and more attention of people.In this study,we investigated three grades students of an experimental middle school by questionnaire.The results show that most of the students are in good learning psychology,but there are a few students with mild burnout.Even some individual cases are in severe burnout.There’s no gender difference in these students burnout,but the grade difference is obvious.Among them,Grade 3 students’ learning burnout level is higher than Grade 1 and Grade 2.Also,the students’ scores of learning have great influence on students learning burnout.The worse scores they get in study,the higher level they have in learning burnout.There’s also a significant difference among students with different family economic status.The family economic status is inversely proportional to the learning burnout level.In order to get the influential factors of these students’ burnout,we also used questionnaires and interviews to investigate.According to the questionnaires,the most influential factors are self-efficacy and academic achievement.Secondly,self-factors,different subjects,social factors and school environment can also predict students’ learning burnout level.According to the interview,we can see that the learning enthusiasm of the students is greatly influenced by the sense of efficacy,self-factors,environmental factors,disciplinary factors and social factors.From the teachers’ conversation,we can see that self-factors,family and teachers as well as self-efficacy can influence students’ learning burnout to different degrees.In order to lower the level of learning burnout,we designed an intervention based on related theories and the above survey.We mainly adopt group counseling but supplement with individual counseling.After six-week intervention,we used Wu Yan and Dai Xiaoyang’s Adolescent Learning burnout scale again,and compare the result with the former test.As we expected,the situation of the experimental group had been improved effectively.And from the subjective feedback after the counseling,we can see that the league members are great encouraged during the counseling.They also learned some practical methods which can be long-term used in the future.Finally,according to the research goal and the conclusion,we proposed several suggestions.First,we should pay attention to individual students with severe learning burnout,and prevent more students from this situation;Second,the investigation found that the sense of learning efficacy and self-factors are the most important influential factors of learning burnout,so we should pay more attention on the cultivation of students’ self-confidence.Third,besides the group counseling,we may try more individual cases research,and get the support of the head teacher and parents.
