A class teacher is in charge of the thoughts, study, health and life of the class students. He or she is also the organizer, leader and educator of a class. Because of the special education model and students’ characteristics, some secondary vocational schools set up the position of full-time class teacher to improve their management level and the occupational pressure of the full-time class teacher affects not only their physical and mental health but also the growth of their students and development of secondary vocational education. The main objective of this study is to survey the full-time class teachers’ pressure level and pressure source of the secondary vocational schools, find the reasons and therefore put forward suggestions to reduce their occupational pressure. So the author took the full-time class teachers of secondary vocational schools in Shanghai as the object of this study. 198 full-time class teachers from 17 secondary vocational schools have been questioned and 8 teachers from 4 schools have been interviewed. The result turns out that the occupational pressure of full-time class teachers in secondary vocational schools in Shanghai is above medium level. In the six dimensions of the source of occupational pressure, occupational expectation is highest. The working load is on the second Place. Achievement pressure, self development needs and the factor of students are following. The lowest is the pressure on family and personal relationships.Analyzing the causes of their occupational pressure, it was found that the pressure is different on Gender, age, marriage status, education, qualification and leading grade. The full-time class teachers who are female, under 40, single, have bachelor degree and assistant lecturer title, lead first grade are more stressful. Meanwhile, full-time class teachers’ temperament, ability, personality, cognitive characteristics and defense mechanisms also affect their occupational pressure. Furthermore, society and schools should be also responsilbe for that. On one hand, full-time class teachers feel pressure under the low occupation status but the high expectation from society; on the other hand, the secondary vocational schools also have problems, such as unperfect rules and regulations, unscientific evaluationg standard, unreasonable salary and benefits, unwide development space, lack of the professional training, etc.Based on the above-mentioned reasons, the author makes the following suggestions. Firstly, the society should improve the occupation status and the image of full-time class teachers, rationalize the expectations to full-time class teachers and pay more attention to their occupational career devolpment. Secondly, schools should establish reasonalble teacher evaluation system, improve the full-time class teachers’ welfare treatment, increase professional training, provide a development platform, organize various interesting and useful activities, etc. Thirdly, full-time class teachers should enhance selfconfidence, adjust their own mind, master the art of class management and communication skills, manage and control time scientifically, etc.
