The vocational education is very important aspect in entire education system.It faces everybody and also faces the entire society.The vocational education system could divide into the higher vocational education, secondary vocational education and the primary vocational education.This paper is about the ratio of full-time teachers and students in secondary vocational education stage.The ratio of faculty-students is the portion of full-time teachers and the school record enrolled student.The ratio of faculty-students is very important parameters which could reflect educational resources' disposition and efficiency,and is also the important reference in appraise teaching quality."Secondary vocational education" have two connotations—basic education in senior school stage and the primary vocational and technical education.The secondary vocational education's connotation has decided that they receive junior middle school graduation with basic knowledge, who wants to seek for the primary vocational education as their educated objects;the school carries on the corresponding cultural base education and the vocational education to them.Reviews more than 20 year struggle experiences of the secondary vocational education,because the Secondary vocational school complies with the social product and the profession development,and as well as the basic need of the society to person,the secondary vocational education is once prosperous at that times.However the secondary education has also had some problems in the developing process,for example,the specialty layout causes certain job seekers to be surplus unreasonable,but certain professions lack technical workers with minimum vocational education horizontal or the rank of technical worker are unitary,even are somewhat low,which causes the primary horizontal job seekers to be excessively enough,but lack great numbers of the intermediate and senior horizontal job seekers,the channel that the learner promotes to be impeded continually;The content of secondary school course is obsolete,the teaching method is backward,and lacks the quality benefit; unreasonable ratio of faculty and students,oversized ratio of faculty-students make each teacher have only several students,she/he afford few mission,the talent teacher's contribution is limit in the minority students, which creates the waste in teaching resource,the ratio of faculty and students is too small,the teachers have to bear too heavy mission,that must affect the teaching quality.The reasonable ratio of faculty-students is not a definite value,but should be have a scope.The state-level key Secondary vocational school's qualified request is the specially appointed teachers are not lower than 80 people,the portion of teachers and students between 1:15-1:17 or 1:21-1:23.From education economics' view,our task is we find the widest range of the ratio.Under the premise of good teaching quality,we makes best effort with fewer manpower to train many students,which could reduced funds disbursement or increases the education achievement,and raises the teaching efficiency. This article has analyzed the ratio of faculty-students in the past several years in Jilin province.The research indicated:the ratio of faculty-students of secondary vocational education is 1:13.41 in prosperous 1993,as a result of the teacher quantity's reduction,a teacher have to afford more students,the ratio dropped to 1:16.91 in 1999,then in 2001,the secondary vocational education started to recovery times,under the encouragement of the nation's good policy,the secondary vocational education of JiLin province have obtained further development.But the situation of difficult recruitment of students of secondary vocational school in Jilin Province has not been better improved,in 2004,the ratio of faculty-students in secondary vocational stage in Jilin province has risen to 1:11.91,it seem that,in recent years,Jilin Province has been the problems of oversized ratio of faculty-students,the teachers have not been sufficiently used,the students numbers of the vocational school are very low and so on.Simultaneously the author selected several other provinces,for example,selecting Guangdong Province,Henan Province,Shanghai city,Shandong Province as the investigating and the comparing objects,analysis the condition of ratio of faculty and students of these province' secondary vocational school,finding similarities and differences between Jilin Province and other provinces,in order to find out the ratio of faculty and students of entire national secondary vocational school' situation and the existence problem.The article had also forecast scale of secondary vocational school with student in Jilin Province in 2010.The author has figured out teacher's gap quantity of 2010.In view of the present situation of secondary vocational education in Jilin province,the author has put forward some proposals.
