In this paper, analysis of elementary music education during the republic of China, and as a reference for contemporary music education reform offer words and ideas, which elementary music education during the republic of China as the research object, from the aspects of factors, educational features, practical significance of departure, music history, music aesthetics, music pedagogy and other disciplines as research foundation, and combined with the reality of contemporary music education.This paper is divided into four chapters. In the introduction part, background, research status, the research significance and value, research method and the innovative characteristics of the study is introduced briefly. In the first chapter, a general overview of the situation of music education in the republic of China is wrote, and the focus is on basic music education, at the same time, supplemented with basic music education related to professional music education content in the republic of China, which can show the sustainability of music education in the republic of China. In the second chapter, the influence of music education during the period of the republic of china is discoursed, and analysis of development of the republic of music education from longitudinal history perspective, which reflects the important influence of western music on the music education during the period of the republic of China. In the third chapter, the specific circumstances of the republic of elementary music education is researched during 1920 s and 1930 s, it is divided into two aspects, which are educational outcomes of music educator and the features of music textbooks in the republic of China. The practical significance of elementary music education in the republic of China on present is obtained through dissertation of the first three chapters.The following conclusions are obtained: The feature of primary and secondary music education is simple, comprehensive, and not a lack of depth during the period of the republic of China. Students get more music skills though using stave strictly, and paying attention to specification of music education. Music education in the republic of China bring many famous musician up, which is the exemplar for music education on present, it can guide us how to reform music education on present.
