The purpose of this paper is to research on music teaching of primary and secondary schools during the period of the Republic of China(1911-1949),summarizes the regularity in the teaching material development,and connecting with the historical perspective,the 38 years of history is divided into "three times",namely: the first period,school music period(1911-1919),the second period of "may fourth movement" period(1919-1937),the third period,during the war to the founding of new China period(1937-1949).Three periods of music teaching materials each has its features: the period of school music teaching material mainly embodies the democracy,education,teaching material write more reflect the bourgeoisie and intellectuals requires learning the west science and civilization,such as "new army" against outside democracy and patriotic thoughts and called for the liberation of human nature,the content of the popular education.This period representative textbooks: "reweave school singing three sets",the period of the representative written materials and music works also has a deep influence on primary and secondary school music teaching materials;Teaching material has the political orientation in the period of May 4th movement,embodies the subject of the era of thoughts,as well as people's patriotism and concern for the fate of the motherland.Teaching material content has the nationality,more innovative,such as revolutionary as the main characteristics of The Times by the representative of the teaching material and the influence on the music works,with Xiao Youmei to primary and secondary schools students as an object of the present joy "at the beginning and at the beginning of the new song";Yuanren chao art songs,Li Jinhui children's song and dance drama,Chen Xiao empty early childhood music education is for our country's music education career made a significant contribution.To the founding of the Anti-Japanese War period of primary and secondary school music teaching thought connotation is: the anti-japanese music around the theme of "for country and people".This period representative teaching materials of junior high school model singing textbooks(vol.1,2),the textbook written by representative and influence on the music works are: yellow since the Renaissance junior high school textbooks for modern Chinese music education popularization to contribute to the standardization of;Nie er,xian xinghai music works,and greatly influenced the new yangge movement to the anti-japanese national salvation spirit of the people gave supplies,at the same time,some of the music work is music teaching materials collected,the audience and teaching for later generations.By analyzing primary and secondary school music teaching material during the period of the Republic of China to see the contents of the three stages: from school period music to "May 4th" movement to war and the change of teaching material to the founding of new China period are influenced by society,this can be seen that the change of the teaching material content is closely related with the social and political change,even under the constraints,we can find that culture is established within the social mechanism.
