Under the background of mass entrepreneurship and innovation, makers based on innovation and hands-on practical ability,are concerned by the educational circles. The cultivation of makers needs the foundation of interdisciplinary knowledge provided by STEM curriculum.But nowadays major STEM courses are reduced to simple manual installation show courses and unable to complete the goal of maker-culturing, which caused by lack of suitable problem situation. This study based on the perspective of problem situation, is aimed at providing some reference for the STEM curriculum design and practice for frontline teachers.Firstly, through the literature analysis, this study defined the maker, STEM curriculum and problem situation, and through the analysis of STEM curriculum characteristics and the objectives of maker cultivation, obtained for features maker-culturing STEM curriculum, not only the STEM curriculum’s features such as interdisciplinary content, project oriented, collaboration in learning process, but also the characteristics of cultivation of makers such as the result as works supported by adequate resources and curriculum evaluation to diversity. Compared with the traditional problem situation, just for introducing the course theme, the problem situation of STEM curriculum problem is used for instructing the total course, which is the character of integrity, openness and authenticity.Then, according to the correlation theory foundation and the STEM curriculum characteristic, this study summarized the instructional aim, principle and strategy of the problem situation of maker-cultured STEM curriculum. The study constructed the corresponding design process and design points of 6 kinds of problem situations, and designed relevant cases.Finally, at a school in Pudong, there are two classes of grade six of students as the object of application research. Through teaching observation and the evaluation of the teacher, the student and the student works, it is further verified that based on design pattern, the creation of problem situations can stimulate students interest in learning, effectively promote the innovation ability and hands-on practical ability training, and then create STEM curriculum situation theory support and practical foundation for the teachers.
