Preschool education is an important part of the national education system, which also plays an important role in individual lifelong education and social development. Teachers are the core strength and main force to develop pre-school education, affecting both the overall quality of citizens and development of the preschool education, which is already a reality that can not be ignored. At present, preschool education has been paid extensive close attention by the whole society and the social requirement for preschool teachers is also increased. In order to build a high-quality preschool teachers’ team, pre-service training is necessary to be imposed. Teachers should focus much more attention on the professional cognitive structure, professional identity and professional competence of the students who majored in preschool education. As important factors in preschool education, professional identity not only affects students’ learning psychology and professional development but also influence the quality of preschool education and development of preschool teachers. At present, the study of professional identity focused on undergraduate and graduate students while limited research has been conducted on professional identity of higher vocational college students who also major in preschool education. Therefore, this paper aimed at the study of higher vocational students’ professional identity. We took 300 students major in preschool education from three higher vocational school in Chongqing city as the research subject. In order to understand the development of professional identity among the students, six representative students were selected to make interview and analyze the factors influencing professional identity so as to provide some strategies to promote the sense of professional identity of preschool education major students.After analyze the professional identity of preschool education professional students in higher vocational school, we found that the professional identity of student among vocational preschool in Chongqing is the average level. Meanwhile, it was found that professional identity in the demographic variable was significantly different. The main results are shown as following: First, the professional identity of students major in preschool education from public vocational school is much higher than that from private schools. Second, professional identity of girls is higher than boys. Third, professional identity of sophomore is significantly higher than freshman and junior students. Fourth, the higher the student grade is, the higher professional identity is. Fifth, students’ professional identity is higher in those students who choose to major in preschool education rather than those who took others’ advice or agree to adjust professional orientation. But there were not significant differences in regions. Through the survey also found that students’ professional identity was also influenced by the school level, individual level and social level, the impact from high to low in order is: the individual level, school level, social level. We explored the effect of professional identity from the perspective of students, teachers, school and society. The student to the professional recognition, the rationality of the students’ career planning and school personnel training, the relevancy of teacher’s professional accomplishment and professional behavior, and social groups of preschool education professional evaluation of influence on the students’ professional identity.Based on this, three suggestions can be conclude from this study based on the individual level, school level, social level three angles for promoting preschool education major students’ professional identity: on a personal level, the student should choose profession considering their professional specialty, strengthen the career planning, take part in professional practice actively, establish a good social support system, and maintain a positive attitude for learning, to enhance the professional identity of ourselves. The school level, the school should formulate reasonable talent training scheme, increase students’ practice, give students build good professional learning environment, strengthen the students’ professional ethics education, to build a high-quality teachers team, at the same time for the students to improve their professional identity and create a good environment for school. In terms of society, the society to change the negative view of preschool teachers. The government needs to pay attention to preschool education professional development further, safeguard the rights of the preschool teachers, at the same time to enhance investment in preschool education in higher vocational colleges, improve the software and hardware facilities. Education departments need to strengthen the cooperation with higher vocational colleges, training more pre-school education applied talents.
