Design And Development Of Road Sign Learning Game Software Based On Unity3D Technology

With the continuous development of information technology and the growing popularity of Internet applications,the form of various types of learning resources began to emerge,the scope of education groups began to spread from school education to adult lifelong education,the virtual teaching forms based on various types of mobile terminal provide a new platform for the development of education resources of adults.At the same time,in the theoretical examination section,the road sign learning content is involved and occupies great score.In the daily life,mastering the meaning of the road signs plays a vital role in safe driving.In order to learn the part of the road signs,the trainees can not drive to the real road to watch and operate the driving to learn this section.Most of the trainees learn the road signs through the paper version provided by the driving school.However,based on the characteristics of adult learning,learning time and location is not fixed,therefore adults can not pay attention to learning.Trainees have tried to find some network resources which can be learned in enjoyable learning environment,such as learning game resources of road signs.But game resources on these in the current network appear little,some game resources are also simple forms such as puzzles presented,for the meaning of the road signs,in what traffic conditions and other issues,the players can not learn from,so completely fail to reach the purpose of learning.As a result,trainees have to give up this form of learning,and then secondly to download some of the software in graphic form or directly through the paper version of learning materials to learn.Learning forms are tedious,and are not conducive to understanding and mastering.So for the content of the road signs,the forms of educational game software which combines learning with games are missing in the real sense.Based on the above reasons,under the guidance of Maslow’s Demand Hierarchy Theory and Immersion Theory,using the MDA game structure model and the RETAIN educational game design model,following the seven prerequisites of the effective learning environment and the general standard of educational games in the mobile learning environment,this paper researched and designed a framework for learning and educational game software of adult to learn road signs.Meanwhile,I use Unity3 D game engine to carry out research and development.The results of this study can be used as a supplement to learn the road signs in adults’ driving test.The whole process of the study is based on the design methodology.In the analysis stage,I interviewed some people to find problems and then analysis learners and learning content using literature research method to study the papers to find the relevant theories as guidance in design.In the design stage,using the existing game structure model and educational game design model,following the prerequisites of the effective learning environment and the general standard of educational games in the mobile learning environment,I researched and designed the game framework.In the development stage,in Unity3 D,I made use of C# language script write interactive function of the software.In the implementation phase,the initially completed software were released to mobile phones and other mobile terminals.Moreover I would invite some trainees to use it to learn the road signs and take in some valuable comments and suggestions.At last,I would repeat the above steps for repairing.
