| Play is very important to the development of children,but compared with the typical development children,there are many defects in the play of the children with ASD.Through intervention the play ability can be improved and as an intervention technique,play also has positive effects on the children with ASD.The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of play intervention on the play ability and also the development of the children with ASD,this study also wanted to summarize the strategies teacher can use to support the play of the children with ASD.Case study was used in the research,Three elementary school students with ASD joined in this study,they played freely in the semi-structured play environment,the teacher provided some kinds of support to make the best use of the circumstances.The research data included the play videos,the development-oriented evaluation and the interviews of parents and teachers. Both quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis are used in the research.The contrast of the results of the development-oriented evaluation before and after the play intervention were analyzed,so did the play ability,the communication behaviors,the eye contact and the avoid tasks behaviors.The research wants to know the effects of play intervention on the development of children with ASD.The results of this study are as follows:(1)The play intervention has an positive effects in many ares of ch-ildren with ASD including the play abilities,interaction and commun-ication,the body movement and sensory perception,the ability of co-gnitive,the regulation of emotion and adaptive ability of daily life of the children with ASD.(2)Teacher involvement is very important in the play intervention,there are also some strategies can be used in the play intervention.(3)The play intervention must focus on the children’s ability and experience. |
