| The graduate education in China has always paid great attention to the cultivation of the academic ability and scientific study ability of graduates. But to a certain extent, the cultivation of graduate students’ academic ethics has been ignored. The resulting bad performance and adverse effects are gradually being concerned and discussed. The cultivation of graduate students’ academic ethics should be not only an important part in the cultivation of graduate students but also one of the basic tasks of ethical education in Colleges and universities. Therefore, I have carried the study on our country contemporary graduate students’academic ethical problems, aiming at putting forward some countermeasures and suggestions based on understanding the current situation of the academic ethics of graduate students and analysis of its causes, in which case we can help colleges and universities to cultivate the academic ethics of graduate students. This paper is divided into five parts including the introduction and the text.The introduction part mainly explains the study background and the meaning of this paper. The related researches at home and abroad are reviewed and sorted out from a number of aspects such as the definition of concept of academic ethics, the main performance of graduate students’ academic ethics, analysis on the causes of the academic ethical problems of graduate students and the thinking of graduate academic ethical construction. And then we get the research content, the research ideas and the research methods of this paper.The clear cognition and designation of relevant concepts are the premise and foundation of the research on the problem. Therefore, in the first part of the text, I have defined the connotation of the academic ethics of graduate students. Firstly, I have defined the concept of academic, ethics, academic ethics and graduate academic ethics. And then I have a brief distinction between the concepts of academic unethical behavior, academic anomie, academic misconduct and academic corruption. I have pointed out two characteristics of the graduate student’s academic ethics in contrast to general academic ethics. And then I have summarized the five elements of the graduate student academic ethics and the three specific norms.In this paper, the study has delineated the scope of the concept and I will need to explain the necessity of the problem to be discussed, the theoretical basis and the practical basis. First of all, from the three aspects of personal, University and society, it explains the necessity of the cultivation of graduate students’ academic ethics. Then it will be the main theoretical basis of this paper, which is the internalization and external theory of Ideological and political education and the attribution theory of psychology, to be used as analysis and support of academic ethics for graduate students. Practical measures such as the rules and regulations published by the state and the universities, all kinds of negative news of academic ethics reported in the newspapers along with the results and academic integrity website released by some universities and scientific research institutions are treated as the practical basis of cultivating graduate students’ academic ethics in colleges and universities. If the theory basis is mainly used for the analysis of the cause of the problem, the practical basis is mainly for the countermeasures to provide reference.In order to understand and grasp the current graduate students’ academic ethical situation, I conducted an empirical study and it is the third part of this article. On the one hand, I interviewed the graduate students and the teachers. On the other hand, I used the existing authoritative, scientific and authentic questionnaire survey data. Combining with the news, I have found that the present situation of the academic ethics of the contemporary graduate students in China has shown a mixed result. Firstly I point out what is good and then focus on the analysis of bad places. In this part, I also have summed up five possible adverse effects brought about by the graduate academic ethical issues.In addition to the current situation of graduate academic ethics gotten through empirical research, I analyze the reasons for the problems of graduate students’ academic morality based on attribution theory. The internal cause is the reason of the graduate students’selves, including Lack of learning investment, weak ability and lack of sense of integrity and self-discipline. The external cause is the cause of the outside of the graduate students. I analyzed the external cause from three aspects: supervisor’s negligence, problems in higher education and mechanism, the social impetuous atmosphere and the unwholesome tendencies in academic publishing.The analysis of the causes is to put forward the countermeasures and suggestions with pertinence and feasibility, therefore, the last part of this paper is the countermeasures of cultivating graduate students’ academic ethics. From the perspective of universities, some countermeasures are put forward in four ways: strengthening academic moral standard education, enhancing the academic quality and moral cultivation of the graduate students, ensuring tutors’positive role in cultivation of academic ethics and improving the academic evaluation, supervision and punishment mechanism. For the ethical education researchers in colleges and universities, to explore feasible countermeasures of graduate academic ethical cultivation is a process of deepening and strengthening, this task is a long way to go. |
