The history subject activity classes is a newborn type of history lesson after the new curriculum reform, which constitutes an independent lesson in the junior middle school history teaching materials. It pays attention to new ways such as cooperative exploring to promote students’ interests in learning, exploring ability, and focusing on improving the overall quality of students. The history subject activity classes is a prominent characteristic in the new curriculum reform and the concentrated expression of the junior middle school history curriculum standards. How to carry out the historical activity classes effectively is a subject which is worth exploring.To explore and study the history subject activity classes in junior middle school, the thesis uses the main research methods: questionnaire survey method, interviewing method, literature research and experiments,and study the problems in the history subject activity classes in junior middle school and the ways of solving the problems.Firstly, this thesis expounds the basic connotation of the history subject activity classes by defining the aspects of concept definition and types,and analyses the value and meaning of the history subject activity classes by comparing different versions of junior middle school history textbooks.Secondly, through studying the history subject activity classes in the JinZhou city, the thesis investigates the present situation and existing problems of the history subject activity classes through questionnaires and interviews with teachers and students in junior middle school.Finally, rethinks the problems and difficulties in the study by using practical research, and find effective solutions, such as schools should play a fundamental role in the organization of teaching; improve history teachers’ literacy; help students develop the ability to self-inquiry; strengthen the guiding role of social to the history subject activity classes.To improve the teaching level of the history subject activity classes and the learn quality of students, we must increase teachers’ professionalism and history research capabilities, improve students’ learn abilities, such as combining theory with practice,hands-on,cooperative inquiry, raise students’ interest in learning history, initial form the historical thinking.
