Transactional analysis or TA in short, which is both a psychological therapy theory and a personality theory, is one of the many psychological therapies in the West. Compared with the dominant psychoanalytic theory, which is effective but unfathomable, TA has clear distinctions in the sense that it is a very effective and highly practical psychological theory and at the same time an easier tool for the general public to achieve self-control and self-development. Up till today, many foreign sportsmen have used TA theory in sports networking and have achieved good results in improving their competitiveness and performance. But in China, TA has not been popularized and as a result, there has been basically no research into TA in the sports field. It is used only in ordinary networking.In recent years, research on psychological aspect of tennis are mostly researching the psychological feature of athletes. Using some psychological training methods to improve psychological quality and achieve personal growth, as well as sports achievements. “Interaction analysis” is a theory of personality, it’s more like a psychological self evaluation standard. Using this theory for athletes in sports field will also achieve personal growth, as well as improving competitive level and sports achievements.Article, by employing such methods as the literature material law, mathematical statistics, expert interview and teaching experiments, based on in-depth research into TA-related theories, and through self learning in combination with tennis practical teaching, delves into the application and effects of TA to find out whether it can improve students’ learning capability of tennis, teaching capacity, competitive ability and competition performance. Through six months of theory learning, teaching practice and competition applications, and via surveys among students, the article conducted analysis and research into the survey results and reached the following conclusions:1.Through six months of theory learning and tennis teaching practice, most students have scored “Good” in mastering and applying the TA method. Based on a good understanding of the theory, the students are able to apply the theory in tennis practice teaching and training and competitions. They are also capable of self-analysis or analyzing others so as to achieve uplift in tennis levels. At the same time, this also shows that the TA theory is simple, easy to understand and highly practical.2. Among the four core theories of TA used in tennis practical teaching, “Structural analysis” is the most commonly used.3. By combining tennis teaching with TA, we found that “Structural analysis” and“Transactional analysis” have had a clear effect in improving students’ “Learning capability” when they are used in teaching and training. “Game analysis” and “Script analysis” have had a positive effect on improving the students’ “Competitive ability”when they are applied to competitions.
