Study On The Intervention Of Social Work For Children Family Violence

Children as the future of the family, the hope of society, should be the family and social care and attention. However, according to public reports in recent years, the number of child abuse incidents, especially children suffer from family violence, the number of incidents is increasing, the degree of harm is also more and more strong. This is more than 1 billion 500 million of the number of children in the world today, it is a major social issue worthy of the attention of the whole society. Therefore, in order to prevent and reduce the occurrence of domestic violence in children, promote the healthy development of children’s physical and mental health, social work involved in the study of domestic violence in children has a very important significance.At present, research on child abuse inclined more towards the aspect of theories, which lacks the substantive researches. Because of the late step on social work in China, the researches on the interventional practice of professional social work are still blank. Also, because of the lack of children protection legislation and children social protection mechanisms, so that the social workers of protecting children don’t have enough resources to support them to do their job, which is a resistance for protecting children from abusing. This study uses the casework approach with cognitive behavioral therapy and family therapy models as the model to do the research. And this study intervenes in two cases of child abuse to help the children reduce their anxiety and enhance self-adaptive capacity. Moreover, this study helps parties in these cases to develop their potential capacities and promote their growth. In the particular processes of this study, the professional social work methods that I use for this study include listening more than speaking, encouraging parties to reveal themselves more, and the principles of acceptance, non-judgment, and confidentiality.After intervening to these two cases, I find that professional social work intervention method can effectively solve the problem of child abuse. Social work as a professional method to help children who are suffering abuse to recover their mental states and heal their physical trauma. And it can help children get rid of crisis and predicament by integrating resources, and help children to re-build their family support system and social support system, which provides favorable conditions for children’s growth and overall development. So the practice of social work has a positive effect on solving the problem of child abuse.
