| Effective teaching, which is quite far-reaching and pervasive to teachers, has been a topic mostly discussed in the field of practical teaching, and it guides the class-teaching revolution of the 21 st century. Therefore, it is extremely meaningful to carry out a research on the current situation of biology in-class teaching as well as the strategies of effective teaching.By applying the literature research method, survey study and the classroom teaching method, the current research is carried out on the strategies of improving the effectiveness of teaching in junior middle school biology classes. The purpose of this study is to combine the effective teaching in the background of the new curriculum with the characteristics of the biology subject itself so as to provide purpose for teaching practices. This paper was divided into five parts. The first part focused on not only the background, purpose and significance of this research but also the current situation of effective teaching and research content and methods. The second part reviewed related theories of teaching effectiveness, analyzed its content, standard and characteristics to prepare theoretically for the following research. Part Three focused on the research method of this study. This study was carried out by teaching practically in junior middle schools and a survey(student version & teacher version) concerning the current situation of biology teaching in junior middle schools. Then, with the help of SPSS 22.0, the statistics were analyzed and dealt with and the reasons of low-effectiveness were discussed as well. In the fourth part, the strategies of the effectiveness of in-class teaching were proposed after the analysis of the factors that had effects on effective teaching in biology classes. 1) fulfilling the teaching goals 2) designing teaching circumstances for the goals 3) designing questions to propose in class 4) designing experiments All these strategies were elaborated within the cases when they were carried out in real class teaching. The fifth part examined the proposed effectiveness of in-class teaching of biology and to test its feasibility and had them analyzed by two cases of effective teaching. The purpose of this research is to provide practical aids and theoretical instructions for biology teachers, to improve the effectiveness of both teaching and learning, and to achieve the ultimate goals of students’ all-round development and teachers’ self-promotion. |
