As a batch of domestic excellent tennis players have achieved success on the international stage, tennis sport attracted increasing attention at home. Now, more and more young athletes participated in it. The construction and development of the university high-level tennis team is getting better and better. The number of recruiting active players is also gradually increasing. Therefore, the high-level tennis team of colleges and universities has become one of the most important tennis athletic talent training positions in our country.Physical training method is one of the most important factors which influence high-level tennis athletes training level. The effects of physical training may cause direct and far-reaching consequences to the training results of high-level tennis players in colleges. In the paper, we use literature, interviews, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics to analysis and research. By doing further investigations and comprehensive analysis of high-level tennis athlete’s physical training methods in ordinary universities,we drew the following conclusions.1. In terms of the special strength training, high-level tennis players in colleges and universities should train twice or three times a week. Upper body strength training method is mainly about all sorts of push-ups exercises. The core strength training is the swivel practice with support of belly and hands. The lower limb strength training methods are mainly no-loading jumping exercises.2. In terms of specific speed training, the main methods of reaction speed training are holding on to listen to the signal on the tennis court, swinging while watching the signal and doing reaction games. The main methods of movement speed training are holding the rackets and fast starting to different directions, scraming combination(hold on) a variety of mobile and tennis court markers plus different footwork combination practice.The main methods of action speed training are moving fast and practicing swing on the tennis court(with various shots).3. In terms of special endurance training, high-level tennis player coaches of colleges and universities usually adopt the multiple shooting(such as the bottom line) practice. That is the common way.4. In special flexibility training, all kinds of single static,(active and passive) stretching exercises and double static(active passive) against flexibility exercises are the important methods to train players’ flexibility.5. In the agility training, some are widely used, such as short-distance running practiceswith changing directions, holding on to listen to, watching signals and ladder footwork transformation practices.6. In terms of recovery training, relaxation exercising and active rest are the main methods for players to refresh themselves.7. College tennis coaches still have some shortages in education, training, experience and training methods. Part of the coaches have a higher technical level, but the ability to lead training is still lacking.8. College tennis players have plenty of time to participate in physical trainings and they hold a positive attitude. But some players think physical training methods of the coaches are relatively tedious, which cannot stimulate the athletes’ interest. Besides, some athletes think some methods unreasonable and the methods of physical trainings and the arrangement cannot meet the requirements of special training.
