Study On The Correlation Between Different Time Of Moderate Intensity Exercise And College Students’ Cognitive Control

Objective:This issue explores the relationship between the exercise time and the function of cognition, hoping to find a certain regularity between them by using near infrared spectroscopy(NIRS) and simulating the situation in the real life. The author judges whether the exercise time influence the cognition of the brain by monitoring the variation of the index of NIRS and the circumstance of the activation of the brain activity after the subjects do exercise of moderate intensity at different time. The author also does a further improvement of the relation curve of exercise time and the function of cognition by analyzing the state of the brain activation at different time. This investigation can provide a theoretical basis of making schedules of the scientific exercise, arranging the reasonable exercise for college students in their daily life and improving the effects of exercise intensity effectively.Methods:The investigator selected 16 non-sports training students of the Capital University of Physical Education and Sports as the research objects. Before the experiment, the research objects should get to know clearly about the specific content and requirements of the experiment and sign a written informed consent. They are asked to receive four experiments in the laboratory. The interval of the experiment should be last at least three days. This experiment adopts the moderate intensity aerobic exercise on the bicycle ergometer in a short time. The moderate intensity is 60%~69% of the maximal heart rate, and the maximal heart rate=220-age. The research objects will receive three times of intervention, 20 minutes, 30 minutes and 45 minutes. A rest should be involved and regarded as a control group. In the process of each experiment, the author will collect the variation of the index of the blood and oxygen of the brain and record the related physiological and psychological index of the research objects at each key point.The results:1. According to the self-reflections of four research objects, the best performance of the accuracy and response speed in the task shows after the research objects do exercise after 30 minutes(compared with the performance after doing sports for 20 minutes and 45 minutes and rest).The lowest accuracy and slowest response speed shows after doing exercise for 45 minutes. Moreover, Te response speed and accuracy is faster and higher in the consistent task than that in the inconsistent tasks.2. According to the data of the content change of measured brain oxygenation hemoglobin, the content of the brain oxygenation hemoglobin increases in the right part of the brain in the consistent stroop task. But there is no statistical difference. The brain oxygenation hemoglobin in the left part of the brain in the consistent task has obvious increasing trend than that in the inconsistent task. It has significant difference in statistic and the most obvious difference shows in the inconsistent tasks.3. Watson mood scale test results show that the positive class mood score of the research objects has risen after doing exercise compared it before doing sports. It suggests that the positive emotion has been improved. During the test, the highest score appears after the research objects do exercise for 30 minutes. The result shows that the most positive mood of the research objects appears after they do sports for 30 minutes.Conclusions:Acute moderate load exercise in a short time can improve the ability of executive control. The biggest influence of the ability of executive control appears after the research objects doing sports for 30 minutes.The state of mind of the participants can be increased after short-time acute moderate intensity exercise.The most obvious change appears after the research objects do exercise after 30 minutes.
