With the acceleration of urbanization process in China, a large number of rural surplus labor enter cities. Because of the dual household registration system and the education policy barriers, a large number of migrant labors cannot solve the schooling of their children when they promote economic development between urban and rural areas. Therefore, left-behind children, a special group in rural areas, emerge from above reasons. As the core labor of the future economic and social development in rural areas, rural left-behind children have caused an extensive attention in society. Based on current researches and data, this paper summarizes the main problems which exist in rural left-behind children and puts forward a series of suggestions. It serves a significant reference value that understanding the issues of Chinese rural left-behind children in entirety.Based on qualitative and quantitative methods, this paper researches the issues of rural left-behind children. On the one hand, it analyzes the background, distribution area and human capital theoretically, and puts forward the importance of the issues in left-behind children group. On the other hand, this paper analyzes the literatures, reports and survey data which are related to domestic and international research of rural left-behind children of China. At the same time, according to the method of literature research, survey and in-depth interview, the author entered the rural area and investigated the children of left-behind. It lay the foundation for further research of rural left-behind children.The rest of this paper as follows. Section 1 sets out the introduction, background of rural left-behind children, purpose and significance of research, research methods and the limitation. Section 2 introduces research status from worldwide to specifically in China, as well as theoretical foundation. Section 3 recommends the situation of left-behind children in China, and describes the main problems and reasons from three aspects: ideology, psychology and behavior. Section 4 discusses the solution of left-behind children’s issues from family, school, society and government. Section 5 gives the conclusion.
