The content of this thesis is the process and summary of woodblock print practical teaching in junior high school art class. Because the material of woodblock print is convenient, safe and interesting, and meet the characteristics of doing by the students themselves. The author integrates several forms of woodblock print into art course teaching in junior high school, to practice in the class.The purpose of teaching woodblock print to the students is to enable them to know the history and manufacturing process of woodblock print, to train the ability of using mind and hand together. In the process of creating and producing, to cultivate the concentration and the perseverance of complex things, to solve the difficulties themselves, to shape the perfect personality. The purpose of this thesis is to enable the students to express theirs feelings and thinking with “the language of woodblock print”.To promote the ability of manual operation, to learn the process of creating art and the process of woodblock print. to cultivate the disposition and tough character. The creation of art mainly trains the creation consciousness of students, inspires the students to form the vision of discovery, learns the method of creating art, expresses the thinking and feelings, possesses the ability of imagine.The main form of this teaching practice is to make manual woodblock print. To start with the goal of “knowledge and skills”, the main theme of the class is the process of making the woodblock print by the students.The teaching activity concentrates on the making methods, making skills and making processes and so on. The methodology of this thesis is practical research method and the experiential summary method, taking the students from Yan Tai No 14 middle school as objects, through the reflection of the practical teaching, to carry out a series of practical teaching, to analyze the existing problems and find out solutions, in order to perfect the teaching strategy and optimize the teaching process, to enhance the efficiency and significance of the woodblock print class.Through the reflection and analysis of the result on woodblock print teaching practice, the author finds that most students have thick interests in woodblock print,they treat it with great enthusiasm that is different from the usual art class, from the preparation to the performance, are both positive and active. This phenomenon promptthat teachers should enrich the contents of art courses, so that the students can be truly integrated into the art class, promote the positive effect of art teaching on the students.In a short, the author thinks that the woodblock print is worth popularizing and applying in the art class in junior high school cause it is convenient, safe and interesting.
