The Renaissance, as a connecting link between the preceding and the followin g, connected the darkness of the Middle Ages as well as started a new centuiy. In th is period, the society had changed dramatically as the results of the decline of the Christian control and the rise of the secular power. The church had been unable to fully control the secular society. The education, being an inseparable part of the soc iety, had closely related to the changes of the society. In the transitional period of I taly, education also presented a variety of characteristics. Especially Italy, to where the Renaissance was born,came up revivals of the ancient Greek and Roman classic al culture, and prevailed humanism which brought vitalities to the social educatio n at that time. Regardless ofthe secondary education or university education.All wer e immersed in the atmosphere of the humanism.In the Renaissance, the Italian educational reality had broken shackles of the ignorant education from medieval churches. Due to the gradual separation of magisterim and secular power, secular regime was getting much more power over the education, with results of the coming-up of secular schools. Because of the popularity of the humanism,the education was with a certain color of the humanism inevitably. All in all, the development of the Renaissance education in Italy had a close relationship with the political and ideological situation at that time.
