| Reviewing the history of after-school education, It is easy for us to get a conclusion that the development of after-school education is an epitaxial development in the last century. However, entering the new century, after-school education is facing transformation. In other words, its development transforms from epitaxial development to connotation construction. During this period, after-school teachers play an important role but are facing harsh challenges as well.Through analysis of literature such as after-school, after-school teachers, teacher’s quality at home and abroad, the writer have found that it could study after-school teachers’quality from three respects, which are life-long learning, inclusive education and curriculum exploitation.The writer has made a survey about the teachers’qualities in Z children’s palace of shanghai. From this survey, it can get a conclusion about the current situation of teachers’ qualities under the back of transformation. Firstly, most of teachers’qualities on life-long learning is high. We found that those teachers not only have the abilities to make their learning plans, but also could influence their students by giving their students some learning suggestions. Secondly, those teachers show low qualities in inclusive education. Many teachers do not touch exceptional children, so they lack the knowledge and ability on them. Thirdly, teachers’ qualities in curriculum exploitation need to improve. Many teachers did not have curriculum exploitation experience and they not only lack knowledge of curriculum exploitation but also have low ability to exploit learning and teaching materials.In face of the two shortcomings, there are three causes that should be focused on. Firstly, some after-school teachers have low qualities because of they having wrong ideas about the function of after-school education. Many teachers regard after-school education as the supplement of school education, which makes those teachers to ignore the function of after-school education. Because of the ambiguous understanding of the special value of after-school education, many teachers could not deal with the relationship between school education and after-school education correctly. Secondly, some teachers did not get enough knowledge in the pre-service education. Many teachers especially those teachers who are not from normal universities have the deficiencies in curriculum exploitation and educational psychology. Thirdly, some teachers did not have enough opportunities in the post-service education. The single training model could not inspire teachers’ learning enthusiasm.Thus the dissertation offer some suggestions to improve after-school teacher’s qualities. Firstly, after-school teachers improve their qualities by themselves for example, they should have self-optimizing awareness and study new knowledge. Secondly, the government should strengthen after-school teachers’ pre-service and post-service cultivation. |
