The English subject in primary school is taught later than Chinese and math, a mass of problems are exist in rural primary school English teaching current situation. These issues play a negative role in English teaching quality of these districts. Due to the main way to accept knowledge for primary school students is through their teachers, they are responsible for the students. Career identity as a software of professional development, teachers’ career identity have inseparable connection with teachers’ work motivation. Chain will affect students who are in his or her class various aspects of development level. Children getting knowledge in primary school have important enlightenment function to the development of his life, especially for English subject. Owing to the restriction of the geographic and economic conditions in the countryside, although English has been set for over ten years in China, at this late hour its development rate is still worrying, even in some area, things are cease to advance. Pay close attention to rural primary school English teachers’ career identity is very necessary.On the basis of previous research, the writer deep in the exploring countryside in order to gain the real condition, having one-to-one conversations to six primary school English teachers, and then to use narrative methods to present respondents’ thinking of teaching and future vision, analyzing their career identity. Let respondents and general education workers reflect their current career identity.This thesis consists of the following aspects:The first part is to summarize general condition of the development of English subject, the necessity of research and the way to select respondents and the way to investigate.The second part is mainly narrate rural primary school English teachers thinking about their career identity in order to present real situation about process of thinking ways.The third part combines storytelling from the second part to analyze the influences main factors of six rural primary English teachers’ career identity.The forth part put forward strategies related to rural primary school English teachers’ career identity. First, government should increase the degree of attention to the rural English education and preferential policies. Next comes, to increase rural primary school English teaching staff size. Last but not least is rural primary school English teachers should try their best to improve self- management ability.The fifth part is reflection on this research and the existing shortcomings.
