In recent years, although the research on unit curriculum and teaching of exhibition/display design in middle school has reached to a certain extent, the research is not deep enough and the research result is rare. In China, people do not pay too much attention to curriculum and teaching of exhibition/display design in middle school. Exhibition/Display design belongs to the design classification with strong comprehensiveness. Middle school students can improve the knowledge and skills in many aspects by learning exhibition/display design. The author has done a lot of research, including theoretical research, comparative research, investigation and empirical research. In the investigation and study, the author verified present current situation of unit curriculum and teaching of exhibition/display design in middle school and formation situation of art teachers in designing knowledge and skills; the author studies the teaching methods of foreign countries, which is worth using as reference based on the comparative study of Chinese and foreign art curriculum standard and Chinese and foreign exhibition/display design teaching so as to help students to have a qualified exhibition/display unit design course study and improve the students’ related knowledge and skills.The first chapter is about the theory foundation of the whole text. First of all, the author makes the definition for "design" and " curriculum/display design" and "unit teaching" and displays the classification and value of display design to reveal the relationship between exhibition design and art education. In the second section, the author reviews the relevant unit curriculum and teaching related literatures on the exhibition/display design unit curriculum and teaching home and abroad to explore the research status regarding this field from home and abroad. In the third section, the author seeks inspiration from the two theories of psychology and the multiple intelligences. In the second chapter, the author interprets the art curriculum standard, makes the questionnaire for middle school student and compares of Chinese and foreign middle school to explore the status and problems on middle school students’ display design modular course,teaching status and problems. In the third chapter, the author studies the knowledge and ability of exhibition/display design courses and teaching in colleges, which provides references and enlightenments for the unit curriculum and teaching of exhibition/display design in middle school. In the fourth chapter, the author develops and carries out the middle school exhibition/display design unit courses based on exhibition/display design course development in the statement. At last, the author puts forward the innovation of middle school students’ exhibition/display design curriculum and teaching.
