With the deepening of the reform on the basic education in our country, new high school ideological and political curriculum standard to the basic ideological and political education provides more detailed requirements. The new curriculum emphasizes that trains students in the psychological, mental, physical and other aspects of the potential, helps students identify with the correct value standards and grasps the correct political directions. Under such a background, the reformation and improvement of the teaching methods has become one of the many educational workers’ imminent work.However, the heuristic teaching method’s idea and application are required by the new curriculum which is significant for changing the high school ideological and political course’s teaching,implementation and realizing the new curriculum standards’ demand and promoting the high school students’ political qualities.This paper makes the use of a combination of literature research,lesson research and class observation methods. Using the literature research method to expatiate the meaning, the characteristics and the advantage of the heuristic teaching method. On the basis of this, sums up the principles which is the familiar,the timeliness and the moderation principles.Using the lesson research method and taking the “creation and implementation of value”for example to expound the heuristic teaching method’s concrete implementation.Using the class observation method to research the heuristic teaching method concretely and raise some existing problems currently,such as setting the problems should be close to the actual situation of students, improving the skill and level of the teachers’ inspiring, grasping the appropriate timing of the inspiring and comprehensive utilization.Study the application of the heuristic teaching method in high school can deepen the teaching from the perspective of the new curriculum reform. It can change the traditional teaching method’s malpractice and promote the course’s teaching quality.This paper attempts to improve and develop the theory and practice in the course’s further, in order to provide a reference for senior high school teachers.
