As modern citizens, we must stick to the chemistry learning in compulsory education, which is also the contemporary demand of the quality education. The chemistry learning in compulsory education also forms the basis of scientific literacy. Junior middle schools in rural areas bear the responsibility to train qualified citizens. In the current process of China’s urbanization, the rural family members are mostly migrant workers, resulting in the lack of family education of their children. Therefore, the students’learning purpose is not clear and they are lack of initiative, which cause some learning difficulties in chemistry learning. In this study, guiding by the personality development theory, multiple intelligence theory and constructivist theory, we have researched the current situation of junior middle schools in rural areas of learning chemistry knowledge. The results show: parents are away from home to become migrant workers; students are lack of parental care; schools are lack of school funding, laboratory lack of equipment and drugs; rural secondary school teachers meet difficult working conditions in, resulting in teacher wastage; improper learning methods and the lack of clear learning objectives are major difficulties in chemistry learning. Having analyzing reasons of the ninth graders chemical learning difficulties, according to the ninth grade chemistry teaching practice, this study presents many effective strategies:parents pay attention to student learning and psychological development; schools introduce high-quality teaching resources, optimizing the teaching staff; teachers regularly attend training, cultivating students self-confidence, stimulating students’ learning motivation and interest in learning; students form study habits, learning methods; students learn to communicate with teachers. Through teaching practice, relatively good conversion results in students with learning difficulties have been achieved.
