Following the development of new curriculum reform, Jilin province freshman also started the new curriculum experiment at the new term in autumn of 2007. High school Chinese curriculum is divided into compulsory courses and elective courses at the request of new curriculum reform. Elective course Settings is the highlight and also a centerpiece of the curriculum reform. In order to widen students’ vision, promote students’ Chinese accomplishment, exploit students’ potentialities, meet the needs of study requirement, support students’ personality, elective courses are established Effect of high school Chinese elective course has attracted educators’ attention and intrigued many teachers interests. As a front-line Chinese teacher, I am not only enjoyed its charming and fascinating in my teaching experience, but also deeply realize the difficulties and deficiencies in the process of curriculum implementation.This paper aims to investigate and study the present teaching situation in the process of Yanbian NO.3 middle school language courses teaching, summarize the achievements and difficulties, the existing problems and analyze which restrict the development of the current school language courses, put forward some suggestions, and provide some effective strategies which are suitable for our actual situation, so that we can get a further development of our high school language courses. The full text is divided into four chapters as follows:The first chapter is the introduction part, which is divided into five parts. The first part puts forward problems. The second part is the purpose and meaning of this paper. The third part introduces the present situation of the elective course teaching in China, especially analyze the domestic research status about the elective course teaching. The second chapter introduces the connotation of the high school Chinese elective course and the total target and relevant requirements of the high school language new curriculum standard, illustrates the significance of setting the elective course in high school. The third chapter is to investigate the the present teaching situation of high school Chinese elective course in the aspects of teaching material selection, teaching method, teaching means, students participation through questionnaires and interviews. The fourth chapter mainly puts forward some suggestions to solve high school Chinese elective course teaching problem in Yanbian NO.3 Middle School.To operate high school elective course teaching is a long way, we hope this article can provide some suggestions for the development of high school elective course teaching, and also hope to attract more attention of the experts, scholars and front-line teachers to it, thus I will do my best to helps the development of high school Chinese elective course.
