High school curriculum reform is an important part of Chinese's basic education curriculum reform .The latest Chinese Curriculum Criteria of Secondary Education was issued in April of 2003. It has put forward and adopted the course mode that compulsory course combines with optional course in high schools of our country. Chinese electives characterized as diversity and individuality has become the spotlight in this field. While some benefits begin to loom with the implementation of the reformation,some problems have also come along, which call for further dicussion and research. How to carry out the electives in school thus has become the focus of attention. This paper attempts to elective courses in the history of New China on the basis of philosophy, psychology and teaching concepts such areas to build theoretical framework, and through the language of teaching and the status of teaching an elective, with a certain case, try to put a high school Elective language teaching strategies. Including the full text of five parts.The first Part : Introduction and Literature Review.
