An Observation Of The Changes Of Hebei’s Capital City Since The Founding Of The People’s Republic Of China

Hebei Provincial capital change is the most frequent of all the provinces in China, through the analysis of Hebei Provincial capital change, we could grasp the development context and regulation of the capital cities, and provide reference for formulating long-term planning for provincial capital scientifically. This thesis uses the provincial capital change research as the breakthrough point, takes Hebei Province as the main research object, analyses emphatically the change of capital as the political, economic and cultural centre of Hebei Province significant influence on two main cities- Baoding and Shijiazhuang.The Chapter One brief discusses the history of Hebei provincial capital change after the establishment of Hebei Province in 1928, and falls into two parts according to the dividing point of the establishment of People’s Republic of China: the change before the establishment of PRC and the change after the establishment of PRC.Chapter Two analyses the capital changing reasons of Hebei Province, which mainly aims at the historical, the political, economical reasons during the capital change. As the province whose capital changes the most frequently, the research on the reasons of the capital change of Hebei Province is very representative.The Chapter Three mainly discourses the provincial capital change’s important impact on two mainly capital cities-Baoding and Shijiazhuang. During the development of cities, the urban function will influence the development trend of cities. So the capital change of Hebei Province must influence the two cities—Baoding and Shijiazhuang.
