As the carrier of curriculum, textbook is an important material for teachers’ teaching and students’ learning. Textbook has always been the focus of the curriculum reform for a long time, however the extensive use of learning plan has an impact on textbook. Therefore, it is meaningful to make an investigation to explore the influence of learning plan on the using of textbook. According to function section in Su edition compulsory module 1, the research concentrated in the following aspects : the first is teachers’ condition on recognizing and using of textbook and the next is the influence of learning plan on the use of textbook.Firstly, the author search the related literatures and review the existing research results to learn about the current situation of the research on the use of textbook. On this basis, according to the purpose of research, the questionnaire is adopted to investigate 34 mathematics teachers from three high schools in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. Afterwards, the data analyzing is combined with classroom observation and after-class semi-structured interview about function section.Through the research, the conclusions of the study includes:(a) Teachers have relatively high recognition on textbook of the function section, but they think the scheduling and connection still need to be improved;(b) Textbooks are still the main resource for teaching in classroom, but it is not the only choice for teachers, the richer experience and higher professional title of the teachers, the less they relay on the textbook;(c) When preparing lessons, learning plan has weakened the teachers’ attention to the textbook; At the same time using of learning plan in the classroom influences the original status of the textbook.Therefore, teachers should treat the value of textbook and learning plan correctly, then they also should understand and study deeply textbook and learning plan to enhance teachers’ professional development.
