How can every individual student learn mathematics well and thusmake progress in comprehensive development? I took the challenge toinnovate in teaching by adopting the pattern of mathematics learningplans. Meanwhile, I followed the objective laws of education andpsychology in an effort to combine teaching practice and theoreticalresearch. Besides, I carried out further research on the effect of the newpattern on senior high school mathematics teaching and learning. Afterdoing my research, I found that this pattern emphasized thelearner-centered concept while taking care of individual needs inlearning. The new pattern improved the effectiveness in learning,helped students to form proper learning habits and assisted students todevelop various learning strategies.This thesis is composed of six parts. The first part covers the aim andsignificance of the research, considering the present situation ofmathematics teaching. It also defines relevant concepts. The secondpart explains the present situation in this particular field of research athome and abroad and points out there is room for further research. Thethird part illustrates the theoretical background relevant to the teachingpattern of adopting learning plans. The fourth part is the focus of myresearch. To begin with, it outlines the features of the new pattern interms of teaching, learning and teaching process. Besides, it explainswith several examples how to design a learning plan. In addition, someteaching strategies are proposed. It also describes how to carry out thisnew pattern with cases of classroom teaching and examples oflearning plans. Furthermore, the evaluation of learning process in thelearning plan pattern is introduced in detail. The fifth part is about theeffect of the new pattern on teaching and learning based on theabove theoretical approach, experimental research and case study. Whether learning attitudes remain the same, whether learning methodsand habits have been changed and whether students’ academicperformance has been improved will be evaluated respectively. Thesixth part concludes the results of my research, points out someproblems in the research and presents some of my deeper thoughts.In the process of study, I collected and analyzed many learningplans that I designed. Some highly effective teaching strategies werealso proposed. However, my personal understanding is limited. I expectmore teachers to participate in the research in this particular aspect.
