One of the characteristics of higher vocational and technical education is mainly reflected in its practical teaching link. Improving the practical teaching quality is the breakthrough point and focal point of improving the quality of Higher Vocational Education. Under the complex background of the factors affecting the quality of higher vocational practical teaching, how to build and research higher vocational practice teaching quality evaluation system is particularly important for the higher vocational and technical colleges, and especially for the construction of provincial demonstrative higher vocational colleges. So it provides a more comprehensive and reasonable feedback information for the practical teaching of higher vocational and technical colleges. At the same time, it has very important practical significance for the requirement put forward by the ministry of education of ensuring the high vocational practical teaching hours not less than 50% of the total teaching hours. Based on the situation, how to more effectively carry out the construction of higher vocational education teaching quality evaluation system and research is necessary. And it has become one of the most important tasks of the higher vocational colleges.In view of the main problems existing in the main domestic higher vocational practice teaching quality evaluation system, it is believed that the practical teaching quality evaluation of higher vocational education is a very complicated system based on the research of higher vocational and technical education evaluation methods both domestically and abroad. The constituent elements of the system are some non-linear, multi-dimensional and dynamic factors. Due to the back propagation (BP) neural network belonging to the system theory with strong self-learning, self-organizing, and adaptive and reasoning features, it can express complex phenomenon and reduce the effect of subjective factors on the evaluation results by the mapping of compounds of simple non-linear functions. So the BP neural network, being applied to the practical teaching quality evaluation and other areas of the assessment, can overcome the practical difficulties of traditional evaluation method in dealing with non-linear problems, and ensure the evaluation results to be scientific and accurate.Therefore, this paper expounds the connotation of higher vocational practical teaching system using the system theory, and designs a more realistic practical teaching evaluation model in vocational education with the BP neural network. Then in the case of Yangjiang Polytechnic, the BP neural network is verified for the higher vocational practical teaching quality evaluation model. The experiment results show that the BP neural network meets the demand of training precision with the features of high convergence speed and small error. And it is completely feasible for higher vocational practical teaching quality evaluation.
