After the curriculum reform of basic education in our country, the new words, such as "class classification" and "course taking class", have been familiar to the majority of teachers in China. In the country in many primary and secondary schools, in addition to elective pattern set for elective classes, some of the schools try elective-class model for all school subjects in order to develop of students’ individuality. Elective classes, by breaking the limitations of traditional classroom teaching, can meet the needs of the development of different potential of students; thus make it possible to suit teaching to the ability of each student.Jin Mei Middle School is located in underdeveloped areas, Huanggang Country,Huangmei City, Hubei Province. The school has got significant teaching performance. In order to maintain the momentum of development, managers of Jin Mei school are thinking about the future development of the school with strategic vision, hoping it to become a prestigious school that will stand the test of time. To achieve this goal, the school decided to carry out the reform of elective-class teaching.The first step of Jin Mei School in the implementation of elective classes is to take school leaders and teachers in groups to Beijing Eleventh School for visits, learning, and the preparation of the reform scheme; step two is to determine the program, and select some of the classes to try out elective-class teaching; step three is to let students choose courses of different levels and types under the instruction of teachers; step four is to draw lessons from the experiences, and strengthen the construction and management of school system. Jin Mei middle school in the implementation of the "elective-class reform" has developed an elective-class curricular system with its own characteristics, which includes state-level courses at different levels and with different types, school-based moral education courses, school-based elective courses. The choice of course-taking is in the hands of students, who will be taught in divided groups according to their different learning ability and interests.Jin Mei Middle School elective class achieved certain results. Through the comparative analysis of data collected from the questionnaires for students and teachers, it proves to be conducive of the elective-class reform in developing students’ personality,building their self-confidence, strengthening their self-management ability and communication skills. Meanwhile the teachers’ teaching concept, teaching skills, as well as the ability to conduct effective teaching and research would all be improved in this campaign. However, there also exist some problems in Jin Mei school’s elective classes.For instance, the increasing difficulty in class management, the aggravating teaching task,the inappropriate way of evaluating the teaching performance and some misunderstanding from parents towards elective classes. These are the hindrances met by Jin Mei middle school in the coursers of reform. In this paper in view of the above problems, the measures and suggestions for improvement of “mentor- consultant adviser for education” to strengthen the class management is proposed. A combination of " diversification assessment " and " binding evaluation " of teacher performance evaluation is suggested, and through the micro letter, parents group and a variety of other ways to let the parents know the positive role that elective classes play in education.Jin Mei Middle School is located in Huanggang city--an underdeveloped area of Hubei Province. There are a lot of other middle schools with similar school-running conditions, similar teaching resources and similar recruiting sources to Jin Mei Middle School in the rural area of Huanggang city. Being the very first to carry out the reform of elective-course teaching, Jin Mei Middle School sets a good example for schools at the same level in Huanggang to work on their own way of teaching innovation.
