The Research Of Exercise System In Chinese Textbooks For Primary School Based On Bloom’s Cognitive Process Dimension

The newly revised Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives include knowledge dimesion and cognitive process dimension. Because the cognitive level of the six categories(memory, comprehension, application, analysis, evaluation,creation)of the cognitive process dimension from low to high in turn, it is more beneficial to research the design level and quality of exercise system in Chinese textbooks for primary school. For this reason, this research develops on the basis of this empirical instrument.Part One of the essay clarifies the reasons of choosing this topic, significance of this research, literature review and methods of this study, Part Two and Three review the theoretical principles, Part Four reveals the characteristics about the exercise system in PEP edition of Chinese textbooks for primary school through horizontal and vertical statistics analysis of the cognitive process dimension, Part Five and Six give some suggestions based on the results of the study and the comparative analysis on different editions’ exercise examples, and make introspection on the limitations of this study.The results indicate that the design of exercise system in PEP edition of Chinese textbooks for primary school cover all cognitive levels’ exercises and the exercises of memorial level take up a very high proportion, the proportions of all cognitive levels’ exercises have sequentiality, the exercise system presents spiral structure.Based on those aforementioned results, this essay presents some reflections and suggestions from subjective angle and objective angle that include goal attainment, process application, attitude transformation and interests motivation, methods consummation, ability improvement and habit cultivation.
