The demands on teachers change over time, those who stagnated would eventually been abandoned by this age. To overtake this rapidly changing time, people continuously try to explore better teaching forms and methods, such as "cooperative learning", "inquiry learning", "micro-class production", "flipped class" etc., in order to enhance the quality of students and the level of teaching. With the reform of basic education, teachers also need to follow the trend of reform and endeavor to improve themselves. At the same time, teaching research carried by teachers has been attached more and more importance and "scientific research rejuvenating the school" has gradually become the consensus of primary and secondary schools, thus teaching research by primary and secondary school teachers being provided favorable guarantee. As the principal part for teaching research, teachers have their unique advantage and can not be substituted by other education researchers. Teachers, those existing in large numbers and with teaching as their main work content, is the realistic operator of the combination of theory and practice, and have a more profound experience of the problems. Therefore, research-oriented teachers capable of exploring renewed teaching methods are the inevitable trend in the future of education field.The problems existed in part of senior high school biology teachers’research were investigated through the form of questionnaire in this study. Three aspects of teachers were investigated by questionnaire viz. research consciousness, research capacity and the understanding of scientific inquiry thought. Investigation results showed that:(1) there been some teachers did not realize the importance of teaching research, and even consider that it is not teachers’task and its implementation will distract teachers’ attention on teaching, affecting the quality of teaching. (2) Most of the teachers could not spare efforts to carry out teaching research and become helpless in the face of teaching research. (3) Most teachers could well grasp the idea of scientific inquiry, and apply it in the teaching process to carry out the inquiry teaching.Based on the above findings, this paper attempts to link the scientific inquiry thought to the teaching research process, and to use the familiar scientific inquiry idea to guide teachers to carry out teaching research, eventually formed the template able to sort out teaching research ideas. Meanwhile, in order to more clearly illustrate the guidance of scientific inquiry thinking on teaching research, the author uses the front-line experience in teaching to give a teaching case of "flipped classroom" for further studies. More teachers’more in-depth understanding of teaching research, mastering of certain teaching methods, the application in usual teaching processes, finding of teaching problems, thus enhancing teaching effect were under expectation.
