This paper focuses on the cross-area between the reform of pedagogies and its application in classes.It is only meaningful when good educational reforms and advanced theories are applied to real teaching environment.This research emphasizes how to foster and develop students' scientific inquiry abilities via classes and after-school activities.At present,it is impossible to totally overturn the test-oriented education system.But in order to train more talented people for the future and respond to the core competencies which is proposed after curriculum reform,as educators in the front line,we are responsible to facilitate students' ability of scientific inquiry.In recent years,a number of educators have proposed the done the construction of model about incurious teaching theories and incurious class.However,they emphasize only on theoretical level.So it is still unclear about its influence,how it would be presented in classes and whether it is compatible with the biology in high school.The author of this paper is an observer in classes and after-school activities.The author also used questionnaire to collect good lectures and after-school activities.By using research papers to analyze current situations in the area of scientific inquiry and biological pedagogies,the author is able to examine the theories of scientific inquiry and incurious pedagogies.According to these researches,there are many different ways to develop students' inquiry abilities internationwide.This research adopts a biology scientific method used by one high school in Kentucky,the U.S.Based on the questionnaires for students in three of the high schools in Changsha,the author analyzed these data and figure out possible explanationsBy entering the real classes and selecting students to do the questionnaires,the author investigated the methods teachers adopted to develop students' ability of scientific inquiry.In addition,the author interacted in after school activities,interviewed teachers about the process to practice these method.The fruits of this research are as follows.First,based on the three samples of high schools in Changsha,the author reached out the relationship between the ability of scientific inquiry and the biology grades.Secondly,the author figured out various methods to foster students' scientific inquiry abilities in high school biology teaching.The incurious class is based on questions and practical experience of students.Mastering the key knowledge in textbooks is prerequisite and using the after-school activities as platforms.Finally,the author designed activities and classes which base on scientific inquiry.These designs may provide teachers new ideas to break the rigidness and inefficiency of ways to facilitate scientific inquiry.
