The ultimate goal of Chinese education is to cultivate the students’ healthy personality, and the ethical literary criticism as an important methodology to study the literature, the value of ethics education in the literary works have a unique advantage. Therefore this article uses the ethical literary criticism method, takes the PEP edition "foreign novel appreciation" as the research object, carries on the ethics localization in Chinese teaching material for senior and tries to dig out foreign novels’ethics education value, which plays an important role in Chinese moral education and implementation of the quality education.This paper selects 8 articles from the "appreciation of foreign novels", accor ding to the ethical value of the novel,the main values can be divided into three parts:social identity and responsibility; choice and destiny and emotion and reaso n. Considering senior high school students’ situation, the paper tries to discuss eth ic educational value in teaching. In the teaching activities of foreign novels, teacher s guide students to differentiate themselves from their social identity and responsibilit y, so that student s can learn how to deal with the relationship between emotion and reason correctly and form their own ethical consciousness in the process of novels’ appreciation.Meanwhile,students can obtain harmonious and comprehensive development. At last, this paper points out that the arrangement of foreign novels in Chinese textbooks for senior needs to be improved and gives some suggestions to promote the teaching of foreign novels.
