In June 2016, Beijing will use examination paper with a total score of 180 points for the first time, which has caused great storm in the education sector and even the whole country. Chinese is placed at an unprecedented height. However, the debate on Chinese teaching has never stopped, especially the improving of Chinese scores and changing of share value of poetry and other traditional cultures, which attracts the attention of educators to the teaching of ancient literary works.Ancient literature contains rich traditional culture and good sentiments of ancients, which has important edifying function for high school students. Ethical Literary Criticism also points out that the primary function of literature is edifying. For the passion of ancient literary works and approval of ethical literary criticism method, the paper chooses ancient literary works in Chinese textbook of the People’s Publishing House for senior from Compulsory the First to Compulsory the Fifth and analyses ethical relationships they have showed to find out the relationship between high school language teaching and ethical relationship teaching. Therefore, this paper intends to use ethical literary criticism method to analyze ancient literary works in Chinese textbook of the People’s Publishing House for senior from Compulsory the First to Compulsory the Fifth, writes instructional design, and implements classroom practices, which not only tests the significance of the ethical literary criticism to contemporary Chinese teaching in practice, but also broadens the dimensions of the ancient works’instructional designs, and extends to improve the level of high school students interpersonal depth of ancient literature.As previous mentioned, the paper is divided into four chapters. In the first section of the first chapter, firstly, the author of the paper strictly classifies ethical relations associated with high school students, which identifies as the teacher-student relationship, peer relationship, and parent-child relationship and conducts interpretations to their connotations separately. Then, in the second section, the author points out the current situation of high school students’ethical relationship based on true stories, reveals ethical relationship crisis that the current high school students are facing and the insufficient ability to deal with ethical relationship of current high school students affects their learning and living. Finally, in the third section, the author analyses the causes of ethical relationship crisis, and provides evidence to solutions below. The second chapter is divided into two sections to discuss high school Chinese ancient literary works’edifying function. Firstly, in the first section, the author discusses edifying function’s connotations of literature, and on that basis interprets edifying function’s connotations of high school Chinese ancient literary works. The author believes better understanding of concept can resolve the crisis preferably. Then, the second section focuses on why high school Chinese ancient literary works contain ethical relationship edifying function. Content here in two parts, which are respectively to analyze why Chinese courses and ancient literary works have such functions. The third chapter is the transition from theory to practice, which is divided into two sections to conduct case analysis of Chinese textbook of the People’s Publishing House for senior from Compulsory the First to Compulsory the Fifth. Firstly, in the first section, the author analyses all the selections in the textbooks which is related to ethical relationships based on the order of "Five Cardinal Relations".Then, in the second section, based on real life of current high school students, the author analyses how the three closely related relationship, which is parent-child relationship, teacher-student relationship and peer relationship exert their edification through ancient literary works and divides it into three parts to accomplish the goal of "gratitude, filial piety, respect for teachers and knowledge, mutual learning, honest faith, and mutual help." Finally, the fourth chapter totally contains four sections, in which the author verifies the theory of the foregoing in practice teaching methods and gets reflection. First, the first section reinterprets the selection of Chen Qing Biao. Next, the second section is the teaching excerpts’presentation of Chen Qing Biao’s second lesson. Secondly, the third section evaluates the effect of this lesson based on the investigation to students and teaches who listened to this lesson via questionnaires. Finally, the fourth section summarizes the pros and cons of this lesson, reflects the insufficiency of ethical relationship teaching at the high school Chinese lesson. Through these four chapters, the author confirms that ancient literary works in Chinese textbook for senior have edifying function, but we should pay more attention to the methods in practical teaching.
