Junior middle school stage is the period of transition from children to adults. Junior school student want to own the adult independence and maturity, but they couldn’t completely get rid of the dependence and childishness,which makes them easy to enter the psychological contradiction and imbalance. Therefore, carrying on research on junior middle school students mental health is of great significance.The paper mainly adopts literature review and empirical approach. The datas of this study are from the 2014 China Education tracking survey,and the author will use SPSS software to analyze the datas through descriptive analysis method, correlation analysis method,and regression analysis method.The research result shows that the parenthood, school atmosphere, length of one’s sleep, burden of study,physical exercise and so on will influence the mental health of middle school students. Based on the result, this article raises several policy advices, such as improving the mental health education system, setting up special research plan of studying middle school students’mental health, creating a healthy school environment and so on.The paper"is divided into six parts:Part one includes research background and significance,literature review,research ideas,the framework of the article and study methods;Part two discusses definition of mental health, structure mental health, characteristics mental health, and the contributory factors;Part three is the empirical test of contributory factors of middle school students’mental health, including:describes the method of sampling and sample characteristics, and used SPSS software to analysis the datas; Part four analyzes the conclusion and put forwards some relevant recommendations;Part five is the study limitations and research prospects.
