Research On The Development And Application Of Special Courses In Secondary Vocational Schools

Vocational education is an important part of the education system in China. With the development of society and economy, the secondary vocational education, which is the foundation and the theme of the vocational education, has ushered in a new developing era. At present, the current vocational education system is faced with opportunities as well as challenges. One side is that a large number of skillful and excellent practitioners are needed to the development of social economy; the other side is that a large number of college graduates have a traditional "bridge" type thought about their employment, which causes the pressure of employment. As the talent cultivation and employment of the vane, the vocational education is the best bridge between the two parts. To ensure the development of the vocational education, our country has launched a series of policies and measures to accelerate the transformation of vocational education, in order to adapt the needs of the talented persons who can suit the social and economic development, and to ease the pressure of employment.As a famous secondary vocational school of the Beibu Gulf region in the western China, Beihai Secondary Vocational and Technical School goes in the forefront of the vocational education reform, and efforts to improve the vocational technical talents training level. In recent years, Beihai Secondary Vocational and Technical School focuses on taking the shell carving, the local characteristic crafts in Beihai City, into its course system of the vocational education. Many local famous masters of shell carving arts are hired into the school to undertake the task of teaching. The school even sets up a "Master Carving Studio" for the education and teaching reform, and takes the "new relationship model between the teachers and students ". In this two-pronged way, the school is working on cultivating the shell carving talents and accumulating rich experience for the reform of the secondary vocational education. With the advance of Beihai shell carving classroom teaching, a large number of shell carving talents with advanced skills are growing up. This results that the local characteristic crafts can be inherited better. It also promoted and drove the development of the local characteristic culture and the characteristic industrial economy.Beihai shell carving is famous for its unique southern region characteristics, and it occupies an important position in the field of national shell carving. It is used in the decorations of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the Capital International Airport and other important venues. It has high artistic ornamental character, and is widely loved. However, in recent years Beihai shell carving industry haven’t timely kept up with the pace of social economic development, and its industrial transformation lagged. Due to the influence of many aspects like fund, talents and marketing promotion, the economic benefits of Beihai shell carving industry is poor. So, Beihai shell carving craft is facing a series of difficulties on its level improvements and innovations. The lack of creative works, obsolete design ideas, talents shortage---- all of these result the widely shrinkage of the shell carving companies.Based on the education reform in secondary occupation school, according to the development status of Beihai shell carving process, and taking Beihai Secondary Vocational andTechnical School to develop local professional pilot teaching of brand founded through research for example, this thesis studies the issues of the development and application of shell carving technology in vocational schools, and analyses the new teaching mode of the combination of national folk arts heritage and vocational education reform, so that we can provide reference for the development of the secondary vocational school curriculum. Undoubtedly, the setting of folk arts courses, which accord with the requirement of the local economy and take local characteristics, and the exploration of the training mode will be beneficial to solve the difficulties in the shortage of shell carving talents, to improve the overall level of design and production process, and to overcome the resistance of the industrial operation and development. It can also fully promote the development of local economy.This thesis consists of six parts. They are introduction, investigation of vocational schools and the setting of the arts courses in Beihai Secondary Vocational and Technical School, summary of the shell carving craft and Beihai shell carving paintings, teaching cases of the shell carving courses in Beihai Secondary Vocational and Technical School, suggestions and measures to add the shell carving course into Beihai Secondary Vocational and Technical School curriculum, and the conclusion. This paper briefly introduces the development of the national secondary vocational education and the relative policies of vocational education innovation that is carrying out in our country; it briefly introduces the basic situation and the curriculum of Beihai Secondary Vocational and Technical School; it also briefly introduces the present situation and the marketing investigation of Beihai shell carving, as well as the field researching of the classroom teaching of Beihai shell carving. Through the teaching practice and analysis of specific, the thesis introduces the problems and solutions in the teaching process of adding shell carving art course Beihai Secondary Vocational and Technical School, especially on the development and improvement of the curriculum and teaching material based on the organized school teaching activities, on the collaborative teaching between the professional teachers and the folk arts and crafts masters, and on the establishment of the Beihai shell carving craft training course facilities. By using teaching methods, we can marry the folk arts with modern art designing, then comprehensively enhance the Beihai shell carving craft design and production quality, give a new form of beauty products, and cultivate students and the aesthetic consciousness process. It also gives some specific recommendations on personnel training and the inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage.Based on the investigation, analysis and research, the thesis forms a certain practical and theoretical results. Hopefully it will be conducive to the shell carving personnel training of Beihai Secondary Vocational and Technical Schools, to the intension of classroom teaching system and the supply base of shell carving craft of human resources, forming our inheritance of no lack of folk art successors. At the same time, the thesis provides useful experience for the secondary vocational and technical schools to develop new curriculum with regional characteristics, and promote the prosperity and development of the vocational education.
