An Investigation On The Chinese Traditional Orchestra Of Shanghai No.3 Girl’s Middle School

Student bands in ordinary high schools are an important component of the construction of school culture, which is of significant value to students’ quality and schools’ art education. Therefore, to sum up the management and teaching experience of excellent student bands is very meaningful to better popularize music education, further promote the levels of student bands in every school and enhance students’ quality education. Among the bands, the brass band, folk music band and string band in Shanghai No.3 Girls’High School all have remarkable achievements. Based on the deep investigation and understanding of folk music band of Shanghai No.3 Girls’ High School, personal participation in rehearsal and performance and the interviews of experts, students and teachers, this thesis conducts a research on the significance, functions, features, teaching methods and management systems of ordinary high schools’ student bands and the relationship between student bands and class music education and so on. And then the thesis proposes experience worthy of promotion and improvement suggestions. Students who are involved in bands for a long time can develop both their professional skills and personal quality. Moreover, student bands as the peak of school art education become an effective approach to improve all the students’ quality. The author suggests that other students bands should enhance the management of rehearsal schedules, management systems, student sources, sites, instruments and so on when building their bands, research songs and teaching methods that are suitable for their own bands and further on, as schools’ characteristic culture, lead to the development of campus artistic culture.
