To learn about the voluntary service specilizat ion among college Spec ial Olympic volunteers in China, this thesis studies the voluntary service ctivit ies among college Special Olympic volunteers in some universit ies as well. The research methods in this thesis are document retrieval method, questionnaire, statistics, and field observation. The study shows as follows:1.College Special Olympic volunteers mainly consists of freshmen, sophomores, a few graduates and doctors in Sport University. The major ity of the college Special Olympic volunteers achieve athletes level and own professinal skills. Most of them have the spirit of “dedication, fraternity, cooperation, progress”. They believe that the professional voluntary service spirit is reflected in “dedication, devotion, cooperation”. They generally believe that the promotion of specializat ion is essential to promoting the voluntary service professionalizat ion.2.In specialized knowledge, the specializaion of Special Olympic voluntary service requires that volunteers should master the public basic knowledge in arts, science and technoloy, instruments, and humanity. Moreover, they should master the professional basic knowledge in physical education, pedagogy, psychology, anthropotomy, physiology, sports injury treatment.3.In specialized skills, college Special Olympic volunteers should skilfully master and use various practical knowledge of physical education. Bes ides, they should have the specialized skills to write teaching designs, interpret and demonstrate sports events, guide the queue formation changes, etc.4.In training the professional competence, the majority of college Special Olympic volunteers try to improve their professional competence by various trainings, reading professional books, communicate with classmates, learning from special website, consult masters and experts, reading newspapers and magzines, etc. However, there are still some volunteers don’t pay much attention to scientif ic research, and they seldom publish research papers.5.Restrictions in the specializaion of Special Olympic voluntary service. In human resource, stimulat ion mechanism, the organizat ion lacks advantages among appraisement, monotonous way of training, not strong pertinence, not prescriptive management. School atmosphere, self effort, self development, relat ive policies and regulat ions, interpersonal relat ionships, development opportunity, training expense, being busy in study, leaders’ less attaching importance, etc. all these factors limits the specializaion of Special Olympic voluntary service.
