With the rapid development of network technology and mobile terminal equipment, technology not only makes people’s life more convenient, but also innovates the contemporary education. It changes the way of learning. At the request of the concept of lifelong learning and learning society construction, informal learning has attracted more and more attention of researchers. In the Web2.0 era, informal learning has a wider learning space and a lot of learning resources. The informal learning of WeChat provides great convenience for learners to acquire knowledge. College students could get a variety of information inadvertently in the process of using WeChat, sometimes even the learners themselves wouldn’t realize that informal learning had occurred. Using the excellent characteristics of WeChat to learn will assist in informal learning effectively. It will provide beneficial reference for college students in some way, such as the speed of college students that acquiring knowledge, the transformation of learning methods and the ability of information application.In this paper, I studied the informal learning model of college students based on WeChat. First of all, this paper discussed the concept and feature of informal learning and WeChat through the method of literature analysis. I expounded the meaning of college students’ informal learning from the perspective of multiple, and unscrambled the connection between WeChat and informal learning deeply.Secondly, I designed the questionnaire carefully, investigated the current situation of college students that had used WeChat to acquire knowledge through the way of questionnaire survey. Through statistics and analysis of collected data, this paper summed up the advantages of informal learning based on WeChat and the possible problems in the process. Under the guidance of social constructivism theory, knowledge management theory, lifelong learning theory and the long tail theory, based on the connotation of informal learning, through the analysis of WeChat’s functional characteristics and the results of questionnaire survey, analysis of the learning property and the principle of construction, an informal learning model of college students based on WeChat was put forward. Then each link and each factor of the model were discussed in detail. The purpose of the model was to help students to master the way that how to use the WeChat to conduct efficient learning, to promote college students learning anytime, anywhere, to lay a good foundation for the formation of lifelong learning and learning society.Finally, for the model that had structured, this paper designed the case application detailedly. It also analyzed the empirical environment and the students that this study selected. And I designed resources and practices, conducted the follow-up survey of the case.This paper also analyzed that the effect of model application by the way of self-evaluation of learners and interview method.
