Wang Senran is one of the Chinese education reformers in early twentieth century, he has made a great contribution both in classical Chinese teaching and vernacular teaching.Especially his vernacular teaching ideas, not only absorb the advanced educational philosophy, but also add into his personal educational practice experience, It has made a profound impact on Chinese education during that period.Wang Senran advocate that vernacular teaching in middle school need make a change from teaching material and methods.At the same time,emphasize the development of students in teaching initiative. In 1929, his pedagogy monograph "middle school Chinese teaching outline" was published,Which included a total of 642 high school vernacular textbooks.Integrate the text of skimming and detailed guidance program for each school intensive reading section. Covering very detailed propositions and commentaries way of writing.It is the first monograph of middle school Chinese language education in the history.In this paper, his vernacular teaching ideas was put into the background of early twentieth century,we sort, compare and elaborate his theory to others. Contact current language education reform to explore Wang Senran’s vernacular teaching’s modern meaning and value.In the aspect of vernacular ideological textbooks,Wang Senran advocates to develop a fully independent social and comprehensively to improve students’language literacy.A large number of articles in accordance with the unit to layout problems. While arrangements for teaching reference books to help students learn.In the aspect of reading teaching,he made emphasis on intensive reading and skimming guidance program,enhance students’ understanding through liaison between teaching and literary text emphasizes,teaching students to grasp the "psychological time",pay attention to the text of the "first impression".In the aspect of writing teaching,he stressed the emphasis on personality development of students,choose to-life topic,flexible training methods and teacher should make less change in students’ writing, teachers and students to change the commentary claims to each other.His Chinese teaching thought not only a step forward in time,also has a reference value on the current language teaching,which are worth learning for educators and researchers.
