| Comparing different learning approaches is the only way to change learning approach, it is also important to study how students learn. Children engagement refers to children physically and mentally engagement in the learning process, it is an important indicator to judge the effectiveness of learning. Based on the status that exist in current educational practice-reception learning is the main way. inquiry learning as the direction of reform. In this study, we decided to compare the difference between the two learning approaches by observing the children engagement. This study uses the mean of repeated measurements of single factor, and select a large class of 30 children as subjects, and according to the characteristics of the two learning approaches to carry out teaching activities and teaching programs designed. Observing 30 children’s 20 mathematics activities video to compare children cognitive and affective engagement in the two learning approaches. The result shows that children cognitive engagement is overall well in the different mathematical content; children affective engagement is overall well in the different mathematical content; in children cognitive engagement there was totally no significant difference between reception learning and inquiry learning; in children affective engagement there was totally no significant difference between reception learning and inquiry learning. Researchers suggest that, teachers select children’s learning approaches should follow the principles of developmentally appropriate, teachers use learning approaches should follow the level of early childhood development and integration of a variety of teaching methods, finally, teachers are the key factors that affect learning approaches and children engagement, should establish a correct view of learning and children, should constantly upgrade their professional knowledge and skills. |
